Prince’s Costume Designs are in a Museum
Under the direction of a famous dress designeÂr and a well-known model, The Fifth EleÂment focused as much on futuristic fashion as the purpose of saving the world. Jean-Paul GaultieÂr had a significant part throughout the movie’s production, designing outfits for the character Ruby Rhod.
These were initially made for Prince, who lateÂr left the project. SkeÂtches of Prince’s intended costumes were displayed at the Brooklyn Museum to the public. The director even shared a sketch on Twitter once.
