In the early 2000s, Mike Myers appeared to be virtually unstoppable at one point. In addition to his Wayne’s World films, which were huge hits, he also had some success with the Austin Powers espionage parodies. The Love Guru then appeared.
That movie ruined Myers’ moment in the spotlight, failing miserably both at the box office and with critics. He took an eight-year break from feature filmmaking after the picture.
