Barry Manilow & Garry Kief
Before entering the relationship, legendary musician Barry Manilow’s longtime girlfriend, Garry Kief, was his manager for several years. Although Manilow has been open about the challenges he faced in coming out, he was moved by the response from his followers.
He told People magazine, “I felt I would be disappointing them if they knew I was gay.” Thus, I never took any action. When they learned that Garry and I were dating, they were overjoyed. It was such a lovely response to hear strangers say, “Good for you!” I’m appreciative of that.”
