Hashtag Awkward
It can be quite challenging to fathom a world devoid of social media, yet surprisingly, letters and symbols have existed long before the advent of modern applications. In fact, Twitter, the platform that popularized hashtags, only came into existence in 2006, a relatively recent addition to our digital landscape when viewed in the grand scheme of things.
While hashtags have become closely linked to Twitter, the symbol itself, often referred to as the pound sign, predates this digital era by a significant margin, making it far from a recent innovation.
