Screeching Halt
U/trishilish: “The other evening, I went on a walk with my dog at around 9:30 p.m. We cross an intersection while strolling along, taking our time.I hear a car following me going very quickly for a residential neighborhood. Then, about two homes down the street, this automobile stops abruptly on the same side as me. simply stops; it doesn’t turn off the engine or put it in park.
I came to a halt as well and for a while I just stood there staring. Things like this usually don’t worry me too much, but I was beginning to feel anxious despite myself. I then took out my phone and gave my roommate, who was at home, a call. My phone lit up, and then the car pulled out and I sped away. Even though I don’t think the person in the automobile intended to hurt me, I can’t stop thinking about it days later.”
