Joe Manganiello
Joe Manganiello’s breakout role came in the form of werewolf Alcide Herveaux in the HBO series True Blood. He later used his towering height of 6’5” on the big screen in his role of Richie in both Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL.
To many people, Manganiello and now ex-wife of seven years Sofia Vergara were the epitome of couple goals. Despite her being above average height at 5’7”, he always towered over her in pictures, even when she was in heels.
Famke Janssen
Most of the actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are slightly shorter than the characters they depict, and the movie magic makes up for it. Dutch actress Famke Janssen had the opposite problem when she played Jean Grey/Phoenix in the X-Men film series.
At 6’0”, Janssen is five inches taller than the comic book version of the character. It was only when she played Lenore Mills in the Taken film trilogy that she met her match in 6’4” Liam Neeson.
Uma Thurman
Uma Thurman is known for her many versatile roles in action classics like Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill movies. Her height of 6”0, combined with her striking looks and unique talent, are the attributes that have set her apart in Hollywood.
Her daughter Maya Thurman Hawke has followed in her famous parents’ footsteps becoming a Juilliard-educated actress, and she’s not far behind her mom in the height department, either, as she stands at 5’8”.
Aisha Tyler
Aisha Tyler is a woman of many talents. She’s flexed her comedy muscles in Whose Line Is It Anyway since 1998, caught criminals as Dr. Tara Lewis in Criminal Minds, and of course, dated Ross in Friends.
We would never have known that she was a member of the 6-foot-and-over club. Who knows—maybe there was some movie magic involved to make her look smaller than Ross in Friends because we would never have been able to tell that she was just one inch shorter than her tall co-star David Schwimmer.
John Lithgow
John Lithgow is a versatile veteran in the entertainment world. He’s been in the business since 1972, rose to fame for his role 3rd Rock From the Sun, and has received several accolades from Tonys to Emmys to Golden Globes for his work on stage and screen.
At 6’4”, he’s no small presence in the industry. He clearly has good genes because his son Ian Lithgow is following in his footsteps—not only in his career, as a talented actor with accolades of his own. He also matches up in height, coming in at 6’4” just like his father.
Skarsgård Family
The Scandinavians in Hollywood these days only prove the stereotype that they’re a tall nation to be true. That’s also why the entire Skarsgård family deserves a spot on this list. Legendary actor Stellan Skarsgård, who is 6’3”, has eight children.
So far, four of them have followed in his footsteps and become actors—there’s Gustaf, Valter, 6’4” Alexander, who we’ve seen in Big Little Lies and Succession, and Bill, whose terrifying glare and 6’3” frame made him perfectly terrifying to play the titular character in It. This is one vertically blessed family.
Taylor Swift
Global pop sensation and TIME’s 2023 “Person of the Year” Taylor Swift is the woman everyone’s talking about right now. Known for her chart-topping hits, poetic songwriting, and magnetic stage presence, she’s not short when it comes to height or Grammy Awards (with an impressive 12 already under her belt).
At 5’11″, Taylor Swift just misses out on the 6-foot club, but she’s still far taller than many of the pop girlies in the charts. She’s six inches taller than her famous bestie, Selena Gomez and the tallest out of her iconic girl squad.
Will Ferrell
One of the funniest moments in the iconic Christmas classic Elf was seeing Buddy the Elf tower over all the other characters in the movie. As it turns out, that’s not too dissimilar from how life really looks for legendary actor Will Ferrell.
Whether he’s portraying an anchorman with an affinity for jazz flute or the CEO of Mattel in Barbie, chances are that 6’3” Ferrell will usually be taller than his co-stars.
Vince Vaughn
During the late ‘90s and 2000s, Vince Vaughn was considered to be one of the kings of the comedy scene in Hollywood. His impressive filmography includes hits like Wedding Crashers, Swingers, and The Break-Up. Despite being typecast as the “funny guy” role, he nailed it every time.
Standing at 6’5”, Vaughn brings more than just humor to the table. Sure, he’s taller than most of his co-stars, but he commands attention with his towering presence and his large stature only adds to the comedic effect of his characters.
Tom Hiddleston
British actor Tom Hiddleston was relatively unknown in the entertainment industry until he skyrocketed to fame when he signed on to play the God of Mischief Loki in Marvel’s Thor. While he plays an imposing supervillain in the MCU, off-screen Hiddleston has such a gentle and amiable personality that many forget he’s so tall, at 6’2”.
He’s married to fellow British actress Zawe Ashton, who stands at 5’10”, and the two make the perfect pair. Hiddleston continues to make waves in the acting industry, both on stage and screen.
Karlie Kloss
As a model, it’s not completely surprising that Karlie Kloss is tall. But while most female models measure in at around 5’10” or 5’11”, Kloss is impressively tall at 6’2”. Her statuesque height was never more evident than when she stood next to Christian Siriano in Project Runway—she makes even tall men look tiny in comparison.
After hating her height as a teen, she’s since overcome her insecurity and instead turned it into a superpower—serving as an inspiration and role model for tall girls everywhere.
Armie Hammer
Armie Hammer has that “look” to be a successful Hollywood leading man. And he fulfilled the prophecy, with roles in movies including The Social Network and The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
It wasn’t just acting alongside Timothee Chalamet in Call Me By Your Name that made Armie Hammer look taller—it’s because he’s actually super tall in real life. At an impressive 6’5”, he has a commanding presence that continues off-screen.
Gwendoline Christie
You might know her as the fierce Brienne of Tarth from Game of Thrones, but did you also know that Gwendoline Christie is a towering force in real life? At an impressive 6’3”, Christie is one of the tallest women in Hollywood right now.
Her height has given her a unique advantage, landing her empowering roles and unique modeling contracts. So whether she’s battling in Westeros or slaying it on the red carpet, Gwendoline Christie is proof that life is just better when you’re standing head and shoulders above the rest.
Maria Sharapova
In most sports, more height doesn’t necessarily mean a better performance. But for Russian former world No. 1 tennis player Maria Sharapova, her height played into her dominating style of play and no doubt helped her to command the tennis court.
At 6’2”, her skill earned her five Grand Slam singles champion titles, including both Wimbledon and the US Open. She became one of the most recognizable women in sport and off the court, she’s since delved into business ventures, fashion, and philanthropy.
Geena Davis
After starting out as a model who had to lie about her height to get more jobs, 6’0” Geena Davis is now better known for starring in movies including Thelma & Louise, Beetlejuice, and Stuart Little.
While she might stand tall, one thing she definitely doesn’t stand for is injustice in the media. She even created the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in the Media to create gender balance and foster inclusion in the world of family entertainment media.
Clint Eastwood
Clint Eastwood is a true legend in the realm of American film. The iconic actor, director, and producer, rose to fame with roles in Spaghetti Westerns like A Fistful of Dollars and the Dirty Harry series.

Post Malone
Austin Richard Post, more famously known as the rapper and producer Post Malone, is one of those musical artists who we can’t help but feel has short-king energy. We’re not sure what it is about him, he just doesn’t look like he should be as tall as he is.
In fact, Postie once claimed on Twitter that he was 6’2” tall, which would make him significantly taller than many of his rap colleagues. We always pictured him as a 5’8” kind of guy.
John Krasinski
You might not have noticed since he spent so much time sitting behind a desk in The Office, but the man who played the lovable Jim Halpert is actually pretty tall. That’s right—the star of A Quiet Place and Jack Ryan, John Krasinski, is 6’3”.
Krasinski also makes up one-half of the power couple with his wife and fellow movie star, Emily Blunt. She’s taller than the average woman, at 5’7”, so it’s likely that their children will follow in their footsteps and grow up to be tall, too.
Chris Evans
Chris Evans is a fan-favorite member of the Hollywood Chris club. He’s known for playing Marvel’s Captain America and though the character is written to be 6’2” in the comics, Evans is only 6’0” in real life.
He’s got the perfect stature to play a superhero, but this almost proved to be a problem when he was considered for the role of Curtis in Snowpiercer. Director Bong Joon-ho initially thought Evans was too buff to play a malnourished character, but Evans won the casting team over and gave a remarkable performance.
Chris Hemsworth
Chris Hemsworth, along with his brother, is one of the most successful exports to have come out of Australia. Before he reached Hollywood, he found fame in his home country as Kim Hyde in the soap opera Home and Away and when he was cast in Marvel’s Thor there was no going back.
He couldn’t be cast as Thor without being tall enough to step into such big shoes. Though the character is written to be 6’6”, we’d say that Chris Hemsworth, who stands at 6’3”, did him justice.
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Often nicknamed “The Austrian Oak”, Arnold Schwarzenegger has made a name for himself for being a colossal figure in Hollywood—both literally and figuratively. His journey to fame started with bodybuilding, as he became a seven-time Mr. Olympia, and it made sense for him to be as tall as he was physically fit.
But with a pumped physique and 6’2″ stature, it made perfect sense that his transition to Hollywood saw Schwarzenegger play the titular character in the Terminator series.

Over the years, Bradley Cooper has acted his way to becoming one of the most influential men in Hollywood. He’s gone from the star of The Hangover films and a rom-com heartthrob to a Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy, and a nine-time Oscar nominee—though he’s still yet to win one.
At 6’1”, Bradley Cooper is tall, dark, and handsome. Plus, he’s an entire foot taller than his A Star is Born co-star Lady Gaga.

David Harbour
David Harbour’s first acting role was in War of the Worlds back in 2005. He reached mainstream fame more recently since playing police chief Jim Hopper in Stranger Things. Standing at 6’4”, Harbour’s commanding presence made him perfect for his role in Hellboy and others.
He’s tall and he knows it, once telling Bustle he was “uncomfortably large”. Perhaps more surprising than his height, though, is his marriage to British edgy pop princess Lily Allen. The pair tied the knot in 2020, and at 5’2”, she is more than a foot shorter than her husband.
Ryan Gosling
Swoonworthy Canadian Ryan Gosling is one of the undisputed Kings of Hollywood rom-coms. Whether it was The Notebook back in 2004 that did it for you, La La Land in 2016, or the 2023 smash hit movie Barbie that affirmed your place on Team Gosling, we’re happy to welcome you.

Jason Momoa
Hawaii-born Jason Momoa made his acting debut alongside David Hasselhoff in Baywatch, and continued his streak of iconic roles by playing Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones.
Thanks to his impressive height of 6’4” and his buff physique, he also earned the role of the King of Atlantis in the Aquaman movies. One thing’s for sure, they cast the right person because he looks exactly how anyone might imagine a God of the ocean to look.
Kristen Johnston
6’0” tall Kristen Johnston made her acting debut on stage, and after a casting agent saw her in the play The Lights she was recommended for the role of Sally Solomon on the TV show 3rd Rock From the Sun. She ended up winning two Emmy Awards for the role and it only propelled her career further.
Johnston has not been afraid to speak up about the prejudice she’s felt as a result of being tall. Now, though, she’s embraced her height and is a proud member of the six-foot club.
Jason Segel
Actor and screenwriter Jason Segel is best known for playing Marshall Eriksen in How I Met Your Mother. It was his role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall where he stood head and shoulders above both Jonah Hill and Mila Kunis that we saw how tall he really was.
Back in his school days, his height of 6’4” played to his advantage as a member of his basketball team, though it came with some unfortunate nicknames. Luckily though, his height is no longer something to laugh at, but a noteworthy part of his identity.

Brad Garrett
Brad Garrett, acclaimed for his deep voice and comedic prowess, gained widespread recognition for his role as Robert Barone on the hit sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. His distinctive voice has also been featured in a series of voice-over credits in animated movies like Finding Nemo.

Jane Lynch
Jane Lynch has been acting for more than 30 years, but it was only after starring as Coach Sue Sylvester in the iconic Glee that she really rose to fame. It was this role that earned her her first Primetime Emmy Award.
She’s since starred in several mainstream comedies including The 40-Year-Old Virgin and fan-favorite Another Cinderella Story. Despite her versatile acting prowess, she’s often typecast as domineering, intimidating characters, and it’s probably partially thanks to her impressive height, since she’s 6’0” tall.
Noah Centineo

Dwayne Johnson
With a famous nickname like “The Rock”, it’s not all that surprising that Dwayne Johnson is tall, but we never realized just how tall. He made his name as a professional WWE wrestler, (hence the nickname that seems to have stuck), and has since had a seamless transition into the acting world.
At 6’5”, Dwayne Johnson’s physical presence is almost as formidable as his career achievements. He’s larger-than-life in every way that counts, and standing next to his buddy Kevin Hart only seeks to make him look taller and Hart look even smaller.
Brooke Shields
Brooke Shields is a model and actress who began modeling at the age of just 11 months old. Her iconic early roles in Pretty Baby and The Blue Lagoon were what made her famous and at the age of 14 she became the youngest fashion model on the cover of Vogue—measuring up at 5’10” at the time.
At 6’0” tall now, she has the height to match her supermodel status. Her two teenage daughters Rowan Francis and Grier Hammond both seem to have taken after their mom in the height department, at 5’11” and 5’9” respectively.
