If you think your partner should pay the rent in full, you have a privileged mindset. It’s obvious that Eden has high expectations for her husband; she’s even threatened to leave him in order to get an equal share of the blame in the marriage.
This reply is really excellent. Then, where would she go? It is obvious that she won’t be able to buy anything on her own if she can’t afford to share rent with her husband. I suppose she ought to start planning how to pay for half of it.
