Remember this scene, a typical day in the Dursley’s kitchen? In the background, we see Aunt Petunia stirring something feverishly in a pot. You probably didn’t think too much about it, or even notice or wonder what she was cooking back there.
But in fact, she isn’t cooking anything at all—she’s dyeing Harry’s school uniform grey! This is a detail that’s only mentioned in the book, so only hardcore fans would know about it.
