I got a terrible sense the morning before the trip that things weren’t going to go well and that we should stay back, but I disregarded it because, at thirteen, I was following orders. I went on the trip with my best buddy.
In summary, we went under when our boat encountered a log jam; while I survived, my closest friend did not. That day, she passed away on the logs.”
