Going the Distance
U/jvac23: “I was going to visit my now-wife, and we did the long-distance thing back in college. I would leave Chicagoland early on Friday and arrive there early in the afternoon. I feel like I should leave Thursday night since I’m closing my store. So I gave up that evening and said, “F it.”
On Friday, just after lunch, tornado sirens sound. It goes unnoticed until Sunday when I go through a town approximately thirty minutes north of her on my way home. It had been lit by the tornado. I realized quickly that I would have been in the middle of a tornado if I had left at my usual time.”
