Technically the truth
This trucking business had no clue their emblem would predict the future. They messed up when their driver tried to wedge their vehicle under this overpass. Clearly, they either aimed too high for the overpass or too low for their big rig. And now, they’re jammed in.
They did succeed; in a way, they squeezed in. But it’s a bad squeeze, and they’re marooned for a while. We think they might need a new symbol after this for their cargo firm, wouldn’t you say?
We have no words…
It’s amazing how something as innocent-looking as a photograph can make us strangely itchy. No, this isn’t a picture of a woolen sweater or a bunch of spiders, but there’s something about it that is upsetting us.
It’s like we almost wish that we could simply reach through the picture, pick up the offending brick with our hands, and put it back in its correct place. Alas, we can’t, so we just get to stare at it with a sad frown on our faces.
Something’s afoot here
Trying to get dressed in the morning can be downright difficult, especially if you’re trying to throw your clothes on even before you’ve had your first cup of coffee in the morning. That’s what makes slides so convenient.
Just stick your feet in, and you don’t even have to fuss with shoe laces. Look, these slippers are even labeled left and right for your convenience. Wait a minute…something doesn’t look right here…Ah well. If they cross their ankles and hope for the best, maybe it’ll be fine after all.
First we zig, then we zag
Did you know that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line? Well, it’s a good thing that people who use sidewalks aren’t in a hurry because trying to get between Point A and Point B on this sidewalk is quite an adventure.
We hope you’re looking to take a leisurely stroll because the meandering shape of this jagged sidewalk is gonna cost you a few extra seconds. You might as well enjoy the views as you walk it, huh?
Stair-ing at the mistake
When we look at this picture, we can’t help but have a few different questions come to mind. For starters, who thought it would be a good idea to design this staircase like this? And what came first, the white pillar or the handrail?
While we may never know, at least we can be confident that someone exhibited some creative design skills when creating these stairs. At least, that’s what we’re telling ourselves because it doesn’t make any sense otherwise.
From now on we’re only ordering take-out
Cooking can be a very soothing hobby. And it is the gift that keeps on giving because you have the pleasure of preparing the food and then the joy of eating it or sharing it with the people you love.
That is unless your cooktop looks like this when you turn it on. We’re not sure how this even passed quality assurance, but if there’s a perfectionist in this house, they’ll probably be ordering take-out until they can have this exchanged.
Yeowtch!
If you’re a fan of coffee, then it’s probably safe to say that you’ve acquired a nice collection of coffee mugs throughout the years. You probably have cups with witty sayings on the side (such as, “Don’t talk to me until I’ve had my first cup of coffee!”) and your favorite superheroes.
Someone thought it would be fun to make this coffee cup in the shape of a blue fox, which is super cute. Except for those little vulpine ears? They’re ready to poke you in the eyes, just like one of the Three Stooges.
That was the yummiest part
Okay, we’re warning you right now. This picture is going to make you both extremely hungry and extremely sad. Someone ordered this delicious-looking chocolate cheesecake, complete with dollops of chocolate whipped cream on the top.
And we can bet that they were probably looking forward to a slice of it all day. That’s what makes seeing all of those yummy blobs of whipped cream stuck to the top of the box all the more devastating. What a waste!
How? Just how?
We’ve seen our fair share of tile-related mistakes, but this one just made us ask ourselves, “How? Just how?” First of all, it’s not like that floor pattern is super intricate, confusing the people who were doing the work.
And it’s also not like the tiles are small, which could also have explained the mistake. Those are very simple tiles that come in very simple colors that were supposed to be put together in very simple shapes.
The ‘parking of the year’ award
Having to deal with bad parking jobs is one of the most annoying things about owning a car. Because parking space is not that widely available, it can be infuriating to come across a badly parked vehicle that takes up two parking spots, for example.
Some people just don’t realize or don’t care, that the way they park their car will directly affect others. It’s not that difficult – just look where the parking lines are. Someone here didn’t do that, and everyone else had no choice but to follow suit.
An embarrassing situation waiting to happen
We’ll admit that most of the fails on this list are pretty harmless, even if they are annoying. They won’t do any actual damage to anyone – unless you consider “hurting the soul of perfectionists” to be “actual damage.”
This, however, is just an embarrassing situation waiting to happen. According to the hanging signs, the restrooms are for men and women, but according to the signs on each door, they’re for women and men. Good luck to whoever needs to use those!
Books don’t fit? Ah well
A locker has a very basic job: it’s designed to hold all of your school belongings between classes. That’s what you think a locker would be designed to do, at least.
This locker, however, seems to have not gotten the memo as to what its responsibilities were. When the student tried to cram their backpack into it, they quickly learned that the narrow shelves prevented them from performing this basic task. Maybe if they took their stuff out of their bag, it would finally fit?
What we have here is a free spirit
This is what happens when a perfectionist shares their stuff with a free spirit. What’s a free spirit, you ask? Ah, you’ve probably met a few of them. You know, a free spirit is an independent thinker, a nonconformist.
A free spirit is someone who sits in a different spot every day at college. A free spirit is someone who will use other people’s personal coffee mugs at work. A free spirit is someone who will borrow a book and give it back full of dog ears. Yes, they’re that type of people.
‘I can’t wait to see the view – oh no’
It seems like this little guy was excited to go on a plane for the first time and see the world from above. His parents wanted to make sure that he would get the most out of his first flight, so when they were doing their check-in, they specifically asked for a window seat.
So they did get a window seat; the only detail is that there was no window. But hey, look at all that leg space. We’re sure they didn’t have trouble finding people willing to trade places with them.
Couldn’t Car Less
Cars cost a lot of money, so there’s nothing more infuriating when someone decides that some mindless vandalism in a parking lot is the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
However, someone was obviously watching them and caught the crime on camera, so let’s hope they got caught and had to pay for new paint jobs for these unfortunate car owners.
It’s a ladder…?
Gates are a reliable way to keep people out — and in! — your community. By shutting and locking the gate, you can help ensure that nobody is going where they’re unwelcome. And this gate requires a key code for you to get in, which means that nobody’s getting in without the password.
There’s just one small problem, though. By spacing the bars on the gate so evenly, they somehow managed to create a ladder. Now, anyone can just climb over to get in.
The hardest decision
There’s a moment in every person’s life when they will feel it. Feel what? “It.” They’ll know when it comes. It will feel like every decision they’ve made up to then had led them to that instant.
We’re willing to bet that this is how the person who shared this photo was feeling when they were pumping gas, and they had to choose between an even payment or an even-gallon mark. They said it was “the hardest decision ever,” and we believe them.
Turning frying pans into crying pans
This is a smart way of organizing your frying pans, but why oh why would a person draw the contour of their pans on that board if they were not planning on keeping them in place?
If we saw this in someone’s kitchen, we wouldn’t be able to control ourselves. We would immediately start reorganizing those pans and wouldn’t stop until each of them sat in their designated space. And that’s why people don’t invite us to their houses anymore.
Why, puppies, why?!
This is a list of human errors. This, however, is not human and is also not an error per se. So why does it bother us so much? Why, puppies, why?
Those little dogs couldn’t care less that their line-up of black and yellow coats was broken at the end – they just wanted to eat their food in peace. And we will let them if we manage to fight the urge that’s taking over us to swap those two pups on the left.
An inspiring inscription
This pillow is a work of art. No, seriously, it’s beautiful. Just look at it, with its gorgeous satin finish and that stunning red rose, and…wait, what does it say on the side of it?
Someone really went above and beyond to make sure they left a heartfelt message printed on this pillow, as evidenced by the lovely cursive script scrawled on the top of it. “Sample text.” Bravo, bravo. That’s sheer poetry that would put Longfellow and Yeats to shame.
The trees were there first
In a proper society, everything has its own order and place, and everything should be correctly organized. When laying a sidewalk, for instance, it would make sense that the trees would be evenly spaced throughout it. It’s more visually appealing and attractive, right?
However, whoever installed this sidewalk did not get that memo and decided to just place those grates wherever. While we can definitely commend them for saving the trees, the completely erratic pattern of their placement doesn’t sit right with us.
We want answers!
This is just too random a “mistake” to have been an accident. How is it that, on this entirely yellow floor, there’s one single tiny tile that doesn’t match the others? And it’s not even by a little.
It’s not like the floor was done on the “butter” hue, and that one tile was done in “canary.” No, that one tile is clearly a “fire brick” red. But how did it end up there? What does it mean? Why did they put it there? We want answers, and we want them now!
How to ruin a good thing
There’s one account on Instagram called “I Have this Thing with Floors,” and all they post is – duh – pictures of floors. We never knew it was so satisfying to scroll through photos of beautiful, colourful tiled floorings worldwide.
This floor right here had the potential to be on that Instagram account. The honeycomb tile is delicate, and we love the pattern and the palette. Why they would ruin it at the last moment is beyond us.
Triple threat (in a bad way)
When it comes to condiments, people usually love them or hate them – there’s no in-between. This is what makes this particular situation of a condiment dispenser where the ketchup is dispensing relish; the mustard is dispensing ketchup. The relish is dispensing mustard; it is just trouble in the making.
There’s a famous story about how a waiter once put a ketchup bottle in front of Frank Sinatra, and the singer grabbed it and threw it up at the wall. He’d probably do the same to this dispenser if he were here.
Don’t do it if you’re not gonna do it right
It’s one thing to make a mistake when you’re finishing a job, and you’re just adding the last details to it. Those can be forgiven (not by us; by other people). However, how can you justify something like this?
There’s no way to save a product when it simply doesn’t do what it was designed for. What’s the point of putting that little eraser at the end of the pencil if it makes an even bigger mess than the one it was designed to get rid of?
It worked better in their head
Everyone has been in a situation where they picture something in their head, and it looks flawless, but then they make it happen in real life, and realize it doesn’t work at all. It’s the famous expectation versus reality.
This is completely normal, and when it happens, all you need to do is readjust whatever needs to be adjusted. Or, you can do like the person who thought the oven would be perfect on that exact spot, and settle with opening the oven door every single time they want to take something from that drawer.
Looking for a job?
Okay, finding a good job can be hard. Either you’re overqualified for every position you apply to, or nobody is hiring in your field. It would appear that this company has solved its problem of having too many candidates apply for their position.
They stationed their ad, which features a friendly woman in a suit with her arm stretched out invitingly over a garbage can. We can only assume that they’re reading every resume that crosses their desk, right?
Guess they’ll just sleep in the hall…
What is it about hotels that makes them so appealing and interesting? Maybe because usually staying in a hotel probably means you’re on vacation. Of course, if you’re travelling for business, that’s a whole other story.
However, the person in this picture may not be sleeping well. The legend on the wall tells them which way their room should be, but a look at their key reveals that their room doesn’t even exist. Hopefully, they didn’t want room service.
Goodbye, toothbrush
When it comes to designing your bathroom, many people may opt for functionality over style. Let’s be realistic here. A cute bathroom vanity sounds cool in theory, but this ski-jump-shaped sink is just a disaster waiting to happen.
Someone thought balancing their toothbrush on the edge of vanity would be perfectly fine, and swoosh — it fell right into the open toilet yuck. Looks like someone needs a new brush and a new vanity sink, too!
What a bargain!
Get ready, friends, because selling this iced tea is an absolute steal. Now, we know that $6 for tea can be a little steep (get it?), so the manager of this store decided to mark it up so that anyone could buy this drink.
Hopefully you’re ready to stock up, because you’ll be saving a lot of money with this product. Well, what are you waiting for? This deal won’t last long, so it’s best to get your deal done while you can.
Tall people problems
Tall people have the short end of the stick in life. They are always asked silly questions like “How’s the weather up there? Do you play basketball? Can you get me those from the upstairs closet?” And as the gentleman in this photo shows, they can’t even swim peacefully, either. Apparently whoever made this shower made it for many young people, this length is actually going down with his head just to wash your hair.
Have a break
The best way to eat Kit Kats is to roll up each wafer stack and eat them one at a time. People who try to be funny, on the other hand, will bite them all at once to annoy their friends. Now, this is it. This is not a joke. Whoever did this is trying to send a message. If you ever come home from work and find that your significant other has eaten their Kit Kat like this, you need a break. It means someone is seriously damaged.
How do you open it?
Who are the smart pants that invented those plastic clamshell bags you buy in the store for random odds and ends? While they do a fantastic job of shielding external objects from the outside world, they are a real challenge to achieve independence.
If only someone invented a machine that makes it easier to cut into things like that…oh, wow, this invention is absolute genius! Now, if we can open it, let’s all get ready!
Does someone have a ruler?
We’ve never studied architecture or anything like that, but if you have a bunch of wires converging at the same point, shouldn’t they… converge at said point? But again, we are not experts here. What we find interesting, though, is that it is such a wonderful place to be home.
It was there for all to see, and the people in charge didn’t care that this sounded perfect. Wondering what else is so crooked and imperfect in this house.
Isn’t it ironic?
Isn’t it ironic (hi, Alanis Morissette) that the term “piece of cake” means “something easy to make?” But, for some people, cutting a good piece of cake isn’t a “piece of cake”. ?
We get that the round cake can be tricky to slice properly, but come on – the person who baked this dessert was thoughtful enough to dust the sugar on top, marking exactly where to cut!
Some men just want to watch the world burn
We can’t believe this was the supermarket’s business. We don’t think the employee who so beautifully arranged those shelves out of nowhere would feel the need to destroy their beautiful creation. No, this was someone who needed a messy job. Why?
There is no logical explanation for that. “Some guys just want to see the world burn.” Yes, we relied on quotes from Batman movies to make sense of life again.
Married to a raccoon
Time and intimacy in marriage will teach you things about your partner that you didn’t know about before, even if you two and a few years of marriage before marriage.
This man is like his wife the usual way, violently grabbing peanut butter, a bag of Doritos and other boxes of sweet treats. He began to notice, and that’s when he realized he was married to a dog.
A mysterious punishment
Gardens can be peaceful and relaxing, but this uneven green space just makes me sweat in all the wrong places. Why were all the trees planted in pairs except the one on the right?
Imagine looking out the window of your home and having to maintain it for the rest of your life. It’s like – I’m pretty sure I’m being punished for something bad – I just don’t know what it is.
Choose your floor
Trying to navigate an apartment elevator can be tricky, especially if it’s your first time. Generally, it is reasonable to expect that the floors will be listed in a particular order. That would be a wise thing to do, wouldn’t it?
For some reason the designer of this elevator panel decided to get a little creative in their design and simply arranged it to their liking. Think quickly: Find the 16th floor! Okay, now look at the 25th floor. At least we can laugh at this gaffe together, right?
