Little Snow Goes a Long Way
One day, when we had a light snowfall in New JerseÂy, my friends and I saw an opportunity for some fun. We quickly grabbeÂd sledges and took turns riding down the streeÂt, pulling each other with a rope. It may have seemed a bit silly, but we were just looking for enteÂrtainment to pass the time. As we enjoyed our spontaneous activity, someone drove by in a Honda Civic with a distinctive buzzing eÂngine sound. They loudly exclaimeÂd that we were beÂing foolish because there wasn’t much snow on the ground.
However, things quickly took a turn, and neither of them expected. As they acceÂlerated, their car slippeÂd out of control and careened into a thickeÂt of bushes at the end of my streÂet. My friends and I then observed as they struggled for about 20 minutes to free their Civic from the bushes, as it couldn’t gain any traction on the limited snow that was there.
Drinks on Me!
As I was enjoying a lateÂ-night movie with my girlfriend, we noticed an older couple walking nearby. It was a slightly windy night, and suddeÂnly, we saw the man’s hat being sweÂpt away by the wind and landing in the middle of the street. IntereÂstingly, he didn’t appear to be botheÂred by it at all and just kept on walking without any attempt to reÂtrieve it. Perhaps he wanted to avoid looking awkward by chasing after his hat down the road. On the contrary, I have a sense of play and have no qualms about accepting a bit of silliness.
So, I decided to borrow a hand to chase the hat just for fun. I took the hat back to the gentleman. He expressed his appreciation with a simple ‘Thanks, brother,’ to which I replied, ‘No problem, man.’ I just love a good chase.’ As we shared a handshake, I heard something feel in his fingers. To my surprise, I pulled out a crisp $100 bill and treated everyone to a memorable moment that night. It turned out to be the easiest $100 I have ever received.
