We all love movie stars – we love to admire them, to be entertained by them, we look to them for cultural leadership and they have a lot of influence on our society as a whole.
Usually we get all that cultural influence from LA and NYC, that are the two main cities of the industry. But the truth is that most of the actors and actresses are not originated from these cities at all, and they come from all across the nation. These are the most famous actors from each state, based on their IMDB popularity and Wikipedia page views.
Alabama: Octavia Spencer
Spencer is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. She’s the sixth of seven children and have a BS in Liberal Arts from Auburn University. She always loved acting and knew that she’d work in the industry, but never thought she would be in front of the camera. In 1995 she got a small part in “A Time to Kill”, and later on played in Sandra Bullock’s first short film. Since then, Spencer continued to act in films, television, and even stages.
Recently she was nominated for an academy award for best actress in supporting role for her performance in “Shape of Water”.
