Late Night Visitor
One night, Alex heard a knock. His heart pounded. Thoughts about the law filled his head as he opened the door. But it wasn’t the cops. It was Trent, who was the new boss. He seemed upset and worried. “Alex, I’m sorry. I want you back at work. I know I’ve been hard on the old-timers. I’m sinking into my job.
I got into MIT because of my dad, not my grades. I’m lost. I can’t figure anything out. Please, friend, I need your help,” begged Trent.
Considering His Options
Alex watched the ex-CEO go from power to pitiful. He couldn’t believe that this confident guy tricked his way into the same school as him years ago. It blew his mind. Now, Alex had a decision to make. Should he leave them high and dry? Walk away with clean hands?
This didn’t really mesh with who he was. At first, he was driven by payback. But now, he saw the real hurt and pressure he’d caused. He looked at Trent and said, “Okay, I’ll help to fix this, but I’ve got some terms…”
