Alex jumped right in, applying for top engineer jobs. In no time, he had three interviews! The first two? Not so much – they brushed him off when they saw he had grey hair. But the third one? Totally different. The company showed off a wide mix of ages and backgrounds, and Alex fit right in.
The young interviewer was super impressed with Alex’s experience and, just like that, gave him a job offer. They knew his know-how was valuable, and he could really help their team.
Finding Respect
Alex was a bit anxious on his first day. But he soon found out he didn’t need to worry. His new co-workers welcomed him like he had always been there. He was a consultant. The younger engineers saw him as a wise mentor. He helped them with their projects in a patient and organized way.
He pointed out problems they hadn’t seen because of his high skill level. Alex got the respect he deserved. Now, he was excited to go to Andrey’s school. He hoped to inspire the students about engineering.
