Mixed Feelings
U/DAT_CANKLE: “The other day, I very cautiously asked my dad if he thought my boyfriend was cute. What a sarcastic man my dad is. It’s difficult to tell when he is sincere. In any case, he eventually acknowledged that “even though he is a bit scatterbrained,” he did enjoy my guy.
I told him that I didn’t care if he was scatterbrained as long as he treated me well, listened to me, showed interest in my interests and hobbies, loved me and appreciated the things I did for him, never put me down, took care of my family and pets, gave me support, believed in me, and picked me up when I was down. My father just answered, “Well, I guess he’s fine.”
