Roger’s Revenge
Meanwhile, Roger started getting used to prison life. Living in a prison near Trenton, he quickly became known as a tough and scary inmate. He was still mad at Janet and Jasmine. They had a part in him ending up in prison, and he wanted revenge. He contacted his old biker friends for help. He told them to scare Janet for him.
He told them to pass on a message. The message said she would never be safe. It said that once he got out of prison, he’d start looking for her.
Safe at Last
The same week, Roger’s motorcycle friends went to Rochester to see Janet. She opened the door slowly when they knocked hard. She got scared seeing them. But then, something surprising happened. “Janet,” they started, “we know Roger’s not good. We wanted to warn you when you first met him. We feel really bad about what he did to you. So, we want to protect you from him. With us around, he won’t get near you.”
Janet looked at the bunch of tough guys with tattoos at her door; their faces showed real worry and care. She breathed out, feeling safe at last.
