Looking Back
Janet thought back to where things went wrong. After losing her first husband, she had felt hopeless. Roger helped her see life’s value again. Little did she know that in a few years, she’d be in court, fighting for her daughter’s safety.
This man wasn’t the Roger she knew. As she looked back, Janet realized the signs were always there, but she ignored them.
How They Met
Janet worked as a waitress at a local bar when Roger Miller came into her life four years ago. One rainy night, a noisy group of drunk bikers entered the bar. Even though Janet could manage most customers, this group made her nervous. But she served their drinks and started tidying up the other tables.
One of the bikes was different. He called her over, said sorry for his buddies’ rough behaviour, and asked if he could buy her a drink. At that moment, Janet had no idea she was about to make a big mistake.
