It hit her one night when she walked into the late-night spot and immediately noticed a girl talking to Jack. While it usually didn’t bother her, she couldn’t help but notice the way Jack was also leaning toward her.
Then, she noticed the way his co-workers and even the regulars she recognized would look away if she made eye contact with them. She came over to Jack, but he was nonchalant about the whole thing and addressed her casually.
