Getting Fired
One evening, Heather answered her dad’s phone while he was putting the twins to bed. “Hi, Cory Summer’s phone, how may I help you?” she answered politely. The person on the other end did not sound amused.
“It’s Denny’s Deliveries. You can tell your dad he shouldn’t bother coming in tomorrow. He’s missed too many shifts lately and it’s just not acceptable. We’re done with him,” he said sharply. Heather tried to cut in, but the phone had already gone dead. She trudged up the stairs to tell her dad the bad news: he had been fired.
